According to the law, pictures of models in ads which were graphically altered must contain a disclaimer saying so. Also according to the law, models must obtain a doctors permit stating that they are not too skinny to appear in photo shoots or ads according to their BMI, which compares height and mass.

Underweight or anorexic models are not allowed to appear.  Many models oppose the law saying it hurts their livelihood. Some said a more comprehensive doctors checkup would be more appropriate and not just the BMI ratio. Critics of the law say that disclaimers were not effective in the fight against smoking or alcohol. But those in favor say that eating disorders amongst youth are influenced by skinny models in commercials. Some admen say the law will force the industry to think beyond just their campaigns to the good of society.
